Take It From Here
Take It From Here (sometimes referred to as TIFH or Tife) starred Jimmy Edwards, Dick Bentley and June Whitfield (replacing Joy Nichols after the first two years).
Written by Frank Muir and Denis Norden, Take It From Here pioneered the use of parody sketches that would become integral to shows like Round The Horne. Its most famous product was a sketch parodying the cosy family sagas of the time. The Take It From Here family, though, were anything but cosy and The Glums became the most popular and enduring part of the show.
Muir and Norden decided to turn to TV writing in 1959 and the BBC bought in Beyond Our Ken's Barry Took and Eric Merrimen but the show only ran for one more year.
